As a curly haired woman living in Papua, I find it hard to get beauty products here for curly haired people like mine. Can you see the irony? In the province where most of the population are curly haired.
Most of the skin care products include whitening formula to brighten our skin color. Most of the hair salon offered us service to straighten our hair. How could we Papuan women be proud of our complexions then?
Knowing this, I prefer to buy imported products for my curly hair. But man oh man, the imported products for curly haired here, are way too expensive than those in other big cities. That’s why I always buy bunch of beauty products every time we visited other big cities.
Deep down inside, I secretly wish that I have enough time, money, and energy to develop affordable products for curly haired and dark skinned women, especially here in Papua.
Hair and skin are two most important parts of our body as a woman. Whenever my skin and hair are being taken care of, my energy and confident level improve significantly.
I hope one day women in Papua could have more options for beauty products like women in other big cities. I hope the products available here could be more affordable. I hope I can see more women walk in confidence with their curly hair down.
